Mention in mythology/history

There are several mythological stories associated with this place. According to one popular legend, this is the place where Lord Rama came to meditate after he defeated Ravana. Another accounts say, this is the place where moon god Chandra spent time in penance.

Distance from Chopta to Tungnath to Chandrashila

The trekking distance between Chopta to Tungnath is 4 km. It takes around 3 hours for a person to cover the distance. The trek from Tungnath to Chandrashila is for about 1.5 km. The trek is easy and offers you mesmerising beauty of nature.
